Converting CR8.5 to CRXI, losing Database Location

When openning reports in CRXI which were written in CR8.0 or CR8.5, in several of the reports we noticed that the "current datasource" database property is not correct. We are using Btrieve DDF's and this field typically contains a concatenation of all folders where a table is stored that is used local to the report (or subreport). For example, if the subreport uses four tables, three from one folder "\WC\DATA\", one from another "\WC\INTERAL\", the database property should contain the concatenation of the paths "\WC\DATA\;\WC\INTERNAL\". In several reports it only will contain "\WC\DATA".
I've been unable to find a pattern to the problem, although most of these tables used aliases in CR8.5

The report pass Verify but when run from designer, they fail with message(s):

"Failed to retrieve data from the database"
"Invalid arguement provided"
