Converting and image to a GRF file or hexadecimal string.

I'm trying to print an image on a ZPL label but am having trouble generating the Hexadecimal string. Currently i'm trying to convert my .tiff image to a GRF image because that seems to be the ideal formate.

When i run the conversion on the tiff image in ZTools nothing happens. No GRF file is created, and there is no error messaged.

I've also tried installing zebra designer because that was recommended in another thread, but it doesn't have any option for converting images.

I've tried using these two sites to convert my image to base64, and then hexadecimal, but is only printed static on my label.

A little update. I figured out how to run the converter from command line, and now I'm able to see the error messaged.

commmand line:

cd c:\ztools
zimaglit.exe c:\ztools\image.tif c:\ztools\newimage.grf

error message:
Tiff compression scheme not supported.

I'm installing gimp now to see if it will let me save a tif image with different or no compression.

Gimp allowed me to save the image as a .tif without any compression. ZTOOLS was then able to generate a GRF file. I opened it with notepad and it contained the proper ZPL code to load the image.

Hopefully google indexes this thread so the next poor sap like me doesn't have to spend 8 hours figuring this stuff out.

tl;dr: GIMP and ZTOOLS!!
