Hello,

I have ACCPAC Advantage Series Corporate Edition version 4.2A loaded on a Windows 2000 test machine . I have copied the directory (from the server) that the ACCPAC PLUS v6.5 programs and data reside in onto my Windows 2000 test machine. I fired up version 4.2A, chose the ACCPAC PLUS A/P Conversion option and filled in the System Path, Data Path and Filename Extension fields. I click on ok and it comes up with the error message:

Incorrect procedure. ACCPAC Plus security must be turned off.

I looked in the Windowing System Manager manual under the section To turn security on or off: It says to get the system manager disk and execute the systempw.exe file on the diskette. I tried that, it came back with the error message:

DOS: create file or open file error.

I've also fired up the DOS version of ACCPAC, gone to F3 of the accounts payable component and tried to remove the password from there; but it doesn't allow me to do that.

The bottom line: How do I turn the security off in my ACCPAC DOS so that I can convert my DOS 6.5 data to my Windows 4.2A?

Any help would be appreciated. I'm new to this ACCPAC stuff so please don't think you're insulting me if you provide explicit instructions. Thanks again.

Hi All,

Never mind. I found a work around. I just removed the hidden password files.

Thanks.
