converting a word document to pdf resizes paper

I have a word Template file that I created for my coworkers to use for emailing quotes. It prints fine to 8.5 x 11 paper. But when I print to pdf (adobe 6.0 std) it resizes to 8.5 x 14(it has blank spage at the bottom) then I can not print it on std paper (when I print it to paper it cuts off my heading and has this huge blank space at the bottom.)
