I need to convert a TSYS report into a file that I can import into Excel in its entirety. Could a simple macro be used to convert the TSYS report into a format I could import into my Excel spreadsheet? Could someone tell me how I can do this? I'm using Attachmate Reflection Suite 2011. Thank you.

hi,

Could you be a bit more specific about this report?

Is it all in one screen?

Multiple screens? If multiple, the messages related to more and no more?

Basically, getting data from a terminal emulator is primarily a function of screen control with some sort of screen capture technique followed by a write technique into Excel.

Do you have any code at all?

Have you checked the FAQs in this forum and forum99?

Please answer each and every question posed above as completely as required.

[a]The report is an internal TSYS/TSA that contains both alpha and numeric values. The report is arranged with both a header and eleven columns across the page and up to forty lines of information per page.

[c] Yes, the number of screens varies daily. The maximum number of screens is a hundred.

Do you have any code at all? [d] No, I don't. I'm able to write simple Excel macros, but I'm at an impasse of creating the code to extract the report from TSYS in AttachMate. Could you suggest a screen capture technique as you mentioned in your reply.

Have you checked the FAQs in this forum and forum99: AttachMate solutions? Yes, but the questions that mirror what I'm looking for are only giving part of the code or stating the already have the code which isn't listed in the thread.

There is code in the FAQs.

You will need to use VB code is you have hundreds of screens' worth of data or you can sit there, hours a day, and copy

I would not waste my time writing the code in Extra Basic. It is an awful editor and and awful language. But I have a definite prejudice. Excel VBA is a much MUCH better editor and language to work with AND your data is going to end up in Excel anyhow.

You've got a huge learning curve, sonny!
