Converting a database file from a string to a number 1

Hello,

I want to be able to convert a field in my database from a string to a number (or the otherway around) so that i am able to link two tables.

Is this possible?

Anyones help is appreciated

You could use a subreport for one of the tables. In either the subreport or the main report, convert the field to match the datatype of the other field, and then use the formula to link the subreport and the main report on the database field.
