I have an Excel 2007 worksheet where column A is a code and column B is a unit value associated with that code.

Example:
02094 1.25
02095 0.00

Excel is displaying a value of 0.00 for any field with a 0 value, but the actual value being saved in the worksheet is 0, not 0.00 as it is displaying.

I have tried to convert 0.00 to text and back to number, as I must have the column in number formate for it to upload to a software application, however when I convert the zeroes from text to number by multiplying the entire column by 1 (Paste Special/multiply), Excel converts the 0.00 back to 0.

Any help is greatly appreciated. I've been unable to find anything on this issue via Tektips or web search.

Thanks,
Michael

0.00 is a formatted view.
The actual value of the field is 0.

You should have similar issues with any other numbers,
such as 1.40, which is actually 1.4

What problems are you encountering?
Where are you uploading to?

A Number Format is just that--a FORMAT. ZERO is ZERO!

However, if you want to convert your numbers to TEXT for output to another system, you cannot use a number format.

Use the TEXT() function. You probably need a FIXED WIDTH structure...

=TEXT(A1,"000.00") will produce a 6 character output, for instance.
