I would like to remove the cnv security records from Great Plains. We converted from GP 9 to 10 and the old security records provide nothing but a massive cluster of useless records you have to scroll though in setting up security roles to users. Can I in the sql tables without harm.

You have just discovered why I am recommending that people DO NOT use the security conversion tool. It just fills the tables with clutter. The records it creates are hard to maintain and do not use the new model and so don't take any advantage of the role based security.

I have not got data with converted records to look at. Please have a look at the sySecurityMSTRRole (SY09100) table. You should be able to find the DEX_ROW_ID of the last default record and then delete all records with a higher DEX_ROW_ID. Or you might be able to use the Created Date (CREATDDT) field as default records seem to have a date of 01/01/2006.

You would also need to look at the sySecurityMSTRTask (SY09000) table.

Once you have removed the unwanted tasks and roles, run a system checklinks on security to clean up.

Hope this helps
