Hi All, I have been tossed into managaing a Merlin and all my background is in Definity needless to say useless on this system.

We have a Vitural EXT that is assiagined to many phones as a coverage button. However we need to be able to forward this ext off site after hours now. My understanding is that this requries a physical extenstion to do the forward from. How do I get the Vitural Ext reprogrammed to a real port and phone??

I'm sure this is basic for the Merlin Gods out there but as always has to be done tonight and I'm stuck so please HELP!

you could actually forward the adjunct (virtual extension) as well you need to assign an authorization code to the adjunct then from any phone you can log into that adjunct and forward it. Authorization codes need to be unique in the system so if you assign one and it doesn't work then that one is already assigned. If you make the code 2580 then you can log into the adjunct by dialing #80 2580# then you dial *33 9xxxxxxxxx# and you should be good. You might need to use #80 2580# #33 9xxxxxxxxx# instead but you can try that out which one works.

if that is too much hassle, renumber the adjunct to something else (73xx to follow the default numbering again) and renumber a physical extension to the old adjunct number, then you should be done too.

Your Legend must be at least Release 6 to be able to use the Authorization Code, otherwise you can loop a Single Line port to a CO port, and set it for Remote Access. You would call the S/L station, put in the barrier code, then *33, the virtual extension, and the destination number.

If you go the authorization code route, I would recommend that you make the auth code the same as the extension number. Then it's #80-(Ext. No.)-#-*33-9-(telephone number)-#
