If you're trying to open/convert a PM file to QXP, the you;d better off asking the QXP forum (forum260) about the requirements of QXP. It maybe that QXP will import PDF.
To export the text from a PM publication, you need to open the file with PM, select the text tool and click File -> Export -> Text.
