Hello all,

Does anyone know how to convert a flash movie created in Flash MX (Published) to an .avi ?

I want to import the movie I have made in Flash into Microsoft Frontpage (or alike) and for it to run smoothly.

I'm not too sure if this is possible.

Hopefully someone can help!

Thanks so much.

Since you made your SWF, you may still have the FLA source file. If so just File > Export > Export Movie... > choose AVI as the file type.

If you haven't got the FLA, then create a new FLA file and then import the SWF by File > Import > Import to Stage. Then export as AVI using the method above.

I would actually use QuickTime Pro. Open the SWF in QT and export as MOV, and then convert it to AVI. You'll get superb quality.

I've never used these but there are many conversion tools available too. For example:

One caveat is that if the SWF is "protected", you may not be able to import the SWF even to Flash. In that case you may need to do the screen capturing as the last resort.

kennethkawamoto,

Thanks very much for your advice.

Keep in mind that any MC modifications you do with actionscript will not be exported with your movie, for instance, if you call an instance to spin or duplicate etc, this will not be portrayed in your avi (as of Flash MX Professional anyway)

cheers,
paul
