Convert server 2008r2 to terminal

Hi all,

I had a question: Is it possible to convert a server 2008r2 box into a terminal server?

Ofcourse the answer is yes but what if i have numerous apps already installed?

Previously the server was used by only 1 user and now it's going into PROD and will be used by about 5 users concurrently. Would it be possible to enable terminal services and configure accordingly?

Most of the resources online suggest you install applications AFTER the role is added. What would you advise in this scenario?

I would pull the apps off, add the TS components, then put the server into install mode and install apps. That will ensure that apps are correctly installed to support TS users.

Agree with 58Sniper, remove the apps and clean up the renants before coverting. Do not expect all apps to work without modifications. Personally I would also add the role of RD Gateway for security purposes.
