Convert row heading in Crosstab query/report

Hi,

I have a report based on a crosstab query. The row headings are codes used for inventory items. I would like to convert these codes to the actual description of the item, which is more user-friendly. Is there a way to do this in a crosstab query or report? It would also be ok to have both the code AND the description.

For example, instead of having 'CodeABC' displayed for the row group, I'd like to have 'Sealy Mattress' displayed instead, which I can lookup on separate table. Not sure how to do this, and have been struggling to figure it out! I put a text box on the report, but can't figure out how to populate it.

You should add the table to your crosstab query and use the Item Description from that table as your Column Heading.

I already have another field as my column heading, a field which is the purpose of this report. And I have the 'Code' field as my row heading. Can I somehow add this field to the crosstab query anyway, or add it just to the report?

Then add the table to your query, join on the CODE fields, and make the Item Description be the Row Heading.
