I have been sent a Primavera Systems file with the extension of .stx Can I import it into MS Project without having Primavera installed on my computer? Or can I do it at all?

Hello,
You simply cannot do; Microsoft does not even know that Primavera Corp. exists.
Ask the guy who sent the file to you to export his data into any format MS Project will read, MS Access or Excel for instance.

A minor correction to afaulxbriole: MS _knows_ that Primavera Corp exists; but they don't *care*.

The story is that there are more copies of MS Project in use than the total of all of their competitors' (including companies like PlanView) sales.

Another minor correction: I would not say "copies of MSP 'in use'", but 'dispatched'.
They are a huge amount of MS Project copies delivered thru' MS subscription contracts, that have never been installed on computers and that MS accounts for being used.
