I'm trying to publish an ebook at Barnes and Noble. I have the book on pdf format and using Calibre it's converted to epub. The problem I have is that B&N allows only 20 MB file to publish an ebook. My pdf file is 19 MB but every time I convert it to epub format, it increases to almost double the size.
Please if you have any idea to how to maintain the same size doing the conversion, or perhaps you know another method.
Any suggestion is greatly appreciated

Are you converting from another format to PDF first, and then to EPUB? If so, could you convert it directly to EPUB?

Yes, the original format is MS Publisher and I tried to convert it to EPUB and the size of the converted file is bigger than the original. The reason I converted to pdf first was because the PDF file was smaller then the MS .pub file

It sounds as though you may have a lot of large images in your book. Just out of interest I converted a 10mb pdf to epub today and it was then only 1.5mb. It wasn't a fancy .pdf though, with very few images. Could you re-do your .pub and make the images smaller in size? I don't know much about MS Publisher (I use Linux mostly). Might be worth posting this in a forum that deals with Publisher.

Best of luck,
Roger

First please make sure you have installed iBooks app in your iphone. If you don’t have it yet you can go to the iTunes Store to download one and it will be automatically installed the next time you sync your iPhone to your computer. Open the PDF file in the iBooks app and now you can enjoy your epub ibooks. Beside, you can ask google how to convert PDF to epub book and he will give you recommendation of useful converter and instructive articles.
if you’re using mac, you can refer to this article about how to convert pdf to epub on mac

Gigiwill,

The original post was not about using an iPhone or Mac! He wants to publish it on Barnes & Noble who have a 20mb limit. I would imagine he has already read it.
