I would like to parse or convert a "837" hospital billing file to CSV.

I wish to do this so that I may use the CSV file with SAS softare to review various AHRQ complication rates. AHRQ is a quality organization and they provide risk adjustment methodlogy that may be used in conjunction with SAS software (which I do have) to generate risk adjusted complication rates.

As part of our business relationship with my vendor (that my facility uses for our core measures program), the Vendor has a utility that does a CSV export. However, they only do the CSV export on my sampled cases (100 a month) and not on 1300 cases (my population). I require population, not sampled cases. I am reaching ou to them as well.

Might anyone suggest any programs (free or paid) that are capable of parsing or converting 837 files (the file I get has a txt extension) to a CSV file?

Thanks in advance for any ideas and suggestions.
