Convert old VB 2008 Project to Version 2022

As far as I can tell there is no easy way to do this due the old file formats.
Any advise on to how to accomplish this without a total rebuild form by form.
Dumb question, if I copy the controls from an old 2008 form to a form in a new project(2022), does the new form use the new versions of the controls?

If this is of any help, I have transferred couple of my projects from VS 2012 to VS 2019 w/o any significant (if any) glitches.
I just copied the entire 2012 project's directory to the new one, and double-clicked the .vbproj file.
You may want to try the same (if you haven't yet).
