convert numbers to words in crystal reports 8.5 1

Hi all,

Our accounting software uses Crystal to generate checks, but the currency is listed as numbers in the AMOUNT area of the check, rather than being written out. Does anyone know if Crystal has a built-in function to convert numbers to words?

I am guessing that 8.5 still has the ToWords(x) function, but cannot be certain - that function is in the 7.0 version that I work with.

We use 8.5 here and yes toWords(x) is still a function.

You can also use ToWords(x, #places) where #places is a whole number indicating the number of decimal places to be converted. (This argument is optional.)

Precisely what the function towords was intended to do.

towords(123.45)
returns:
one hundred twenty-three and 45 / 100

And it automatically rounds to the nearest 2 digit precision as the default, with a second optional argument of decimal precision:

towords(123.4567,4)
returns:
one hundred twenty-three and 4567 / 1000
