In the options menu there is a place to put a check mark for "convert null field values to default" Is it a good idea to check that or not? I am on version 7.0 working with SQL/ODBC tables.

Caren: If you check this then you will only have to test fields for the default i.e. numbers = 0 rather than having to test for both i.e. number=0 or isnull(number) David C. Monks

Caren,

In most cases it is a matter of preference.

I prefer not to use it in most cases, because it only applies within formula fields, not within the selection formulas.

It also means that you can no longer use the IsNull function, which is sometimes needed. Ken Hamady
