I have an old file that is a Microsoft Works spreadsheet. Is there a way to convert / recover the file into Excel?

Assuming you have a recent copy of Excel (say 97/2000/XP), you should be able to open the Works file directly. If you don't see Works listed as one of the available file types to open, run setup again and add the components that allow you to open additional file types in Excel.

I am using Excel 97 ... and can load a .wks file. When I load it, it comes up as garbage. The file was created using Works 4.0.
