I apoligize if this is already a thread, I searched but couldn't find exactly what I need.

I am using Crystal XI and would like to create a formula for a date field to convert to mm/dd/yyyy from m/d/yyyy.

I am looking to evaluate it against another database to determine if there is a keying error in the other system. I am getting returns for dates that are not formatted the same even though they are both date fields.

Thanks!
Kim

Hi,

Dates are Dates, not characters that appear to be dates and thereofre not dates.

Dates are NUMBERS. What you 'see' displayed is a FORMAT representation of a Date Value.

If you have REAL DATES in two different tables, you can compare the FIELDS without formatting.

Thanks Skip! Good to know, looking at the data further it is pulling for other unmatched items I am also evaluating.

...for instance?
