I have a harddrive with either Linux or Unix on it (I don't have much experience with either Linux or Unix) and need to remove the partition on this drive, re-partition the drive and format it so I can install Win98 on the drive. As expected fdisk sees the partition as non-dos. I have had problems in the past with fdisk removing non-dos partitions - sometimes it works ok - sometimes not.
I was wondering whether using the clean tool supplied by fujitsu would work better than using the fdisk routine or is there another utility I could use to accomplish this task?
The drive is a fujitsu - 10 gig
Best Wishes to you all and thanks in advance for your assistance

Fdisk should work, but if not here's a tool that will completely remove all partitions from the primary master drive Put a formatted floppy in the drive then run wreckit a:. This will extract the files to the floppy.

Then use this floppy to boot the machine with the hard drive to be partitioned. You will be promted to remove all existing partions. Make sure you have the drive set as master when you boot with this floppy. After the pc reboots, fdisk however you'd like and you'll be all set.

First Use: FDISK /MBR using the boot floppy you have containing FDISK.EXE

THEN create the Windoze partition using FDISK.
