out the box it is in IOS, and will not boot to the ios, I have beenb told that I have to tell it to go to hybrid mode but have found no reference on how to do it
Please help

You would have to indicate what supervisor you have . I'm not sure you can do this on the newer 4500's . I think they are IOS only . This is cisco's direction anyway , within 3 years i bet you won't see any more catos boxes . You'll notice anything new is strictly IOS .

Vipergg is correct. If it's a newer supervisor, you cannot go to hybrid but have to stay native. Why would you want to dummy down the switch by going hybrid anyway?

You can buy a Sup 2 from a used vendor and it will come with CatOS. I'm not sure if they are EOL with Cisco or not, but they cannot go to Native, they are CatOS only. Even a Sup 3 can be Hybrid. FYI

Sup II's are end of life and even most of the software support , security , bug fixes are supposed to end in 3/06 if I remember right.
