I've made a report, and would like to email it to someone else (stripped, of course, of my data). I'd like for the other party to be able to run the report from their end. However, I'm using MS SQL and they're on ODBC. Is there anything I can do on my end so that the other party will be able to execute the report on their database when I send it to them?

You need to create an ODBC datasource that has the exact same name, on the exact same network location, as the end user would see the data on their machine (This may no be possible).

Then you just click on database, convert database driver, select pdsobcs.dll, then select the datasource name.

Alternatively you can just email the report you have, and let the person make this change on their end.

I had originally sent the report, and then walked the other person through converting the database. However, she received an error regarding the fields not being on the file (?).

Extra info: We are using the same application to run the report. database tables are synonymous. only data and database driver are different.

If the fields are not in the database EXACTLY (in regards to Macola the Pervasive and MS SQL Tables are slightly different) she should get prompted to go through a field-to-field mapping process.

Did that happen? Was she able to map the fields? Software Training and Support for Macola, Crystal Reports and Goldmine
