hmm, I don't think this would work because I think it requires a folder in the Create New Connection folder, and I don't see that for the CRM application I'm connecting to
I have the DSN set up, but it needs a folder for the vendor under the create new connection as a native database driver.
And I cannot see a folder with the CRM vendor's name in it, so I think that it is a reigstry issue but I tried cleaning out the registry and then installing CR 10 and the CRM again and no success.
Hi,
DSNs and Native Database drivers are very different things..
For ODBC you set up the DSN ( using the Control panel in windows - Data Sources ) then in Crystal select that DSN as the connection...
Unless CR supports whatever 'Native' driver your CRM uses, the CRM vendor's name will never appear in the Create New Connection ( like 'Oracle Server' does when the Oracle client is installed)..

Hi,
Let's clarify things to be sure we are talking about the same thing:
When selecting a connection for a CR report there is a list displayed of available Data source types when you click on 'Create New Connection' Like:
Access/Excel(DAO)
+ODBC(RDO)
+OLEDB(ADO)
File System Data, etc
and some of these have additional lists ( the ODBC(RDO), when expanded, for instance, will list All your accessable DSNs)
And if, for instance, the Oracle client is installed, there will be an entry in this list called
Oracle Server
That said, are you saying that on another machine, when you click on 'Create New Connection', the list shown contains one named
CRM
