Convert Access 97 db to 2000

I need to convert a couple of hundred Access 97 db's to Access 2000. Can I do this with ADO? I seem to remember that 97 had a compact method that would let you specify the version. I have a VB6 app that I use to modify the db when necessary. Any help is appreciated.
