Hello

This may be the wrong way to go about it (I'm still learning)
BUT
Each month after the MS patches are released I deploy them to a Pilot group, I can create this group as users from AD, what I'd like to do is convert this goup of users to their actual PC's and the authorise the MS updates to that group of machines.

Is this correct?

thanks in advance

Stu

Yes, It would be better to send them to machines as with users, every machine they sit at they will get the pilot pushed to that machine, and I would think it would be to hard to track that way

The only way to do what you want to do is manually. We have gone about it a different way. We actually created a WMI class called patchlevel and extended the sms_def.mof file to inventory this class. Then we advertised a vbscript to the pilot user group that will populate that class via the registry (not mandatory). Finally we sent out an email to the pilot group asking them to run the advertisement on machines they wish to receive patches. Then simply advertise your patches to machines that have that class defined.
