Hi,

I have to upgrade stations from digital to voip and by changing the device combination I need to change the PEN. When I'm on the digital card (PEN) cant't see the voip cards (PEN) from the list.
How can I do that easily.

Thanks!

Let's use telephony terminology here, ummkay? Are you migrating from TDM to SIP, or TDM to HFA, or what to what??

Maintain HiPath 4000 V5 & V6, OpenScape Xpert V4, OpenScape Xpressions, OpenScape Contact Center V8, OpenScape Voice V9

Don't think it matters. You can't reconfigure TDM to SIP or HFA in one line. Need to delete the extension and re-add it. You can't cha-sbcsu, you can't cha-sxsu, and you can't sign it off an SLMO and sign it on to STMI. Needs delete/add.

TDM uses SLMO-24 module, HFA uses STIM-4 module. Of course you can't see a digital line in an STMI-4 card, or an HFA line can't be seen in an SLMO-24 card. Therefore, you need to delete the TDM line and add a new HFA line using the same station no., or vice versa.

REG-SBCSU on a current HFA or SIP phone if you have one and that will give you the information to clone a phone of that type.

REG-SCSU on a phone that you want to upgrade you you have a backup of the way it was in case something goes wrong and you have to put it back.

DEL-SCSU to delete the station you want to upgrade. Note you may also need to previously delete forwarding, pick groups, hunt groups, and it won't let you delete a "night service station".

Now copy and paste the REG-SBCSU data from above into the command line in Comwin, change the station number in that command line to the one you just deleted, and assign it an open PEN number on an appropriate STMI card, then press ENTER. You will now have created that extension number as an IP phone. If you have DLS then you can use that to create the phone in the deployment system and push out the settings - otherwise you'll have to go into the Admin menu on the phone (pw 123456) and thter all the settings manually for gateway, extension number, etc. to get the phone to come up. Then you will have to redo any forwarding, groups, etc the phone was in. There are ways to Regen all that stuff in advance too so you can just copy it back, but that's too much to type!

To find an OPEN PEN on a STMI card:

DIS-SDSU:ALL,,PEN,PER2,1,<shelf#>,<board#>;

Any port that has NOGEN after it is vacant and available for use, but note that some of those ports may be set up for HFA and some may be set up for SIP (depends on the board config, which you can see with DIS-BCSU)
