We have an application in Unisys Cobol which we want to convert to the AS/400(Cobol/400 using DB2/400 files) or Mainframe(Cobol using DB2).Could you please suggest any tool available for conversion and the steps to be taken for the same.

We have a service/software that is designed to convert your Unisys Cobol to the Mainframe or As/400 Cobol. This service is wrapped around our automated tools. These tools have been in production since 1969. The service methodology is based on an I.D.E.A =(INVENTORY, DATA RATIONALIZATION, EVALUTION, ANSWER).

I've been told Cornerstone is specialized in all conversions. Could save you a lot...

Hot from just hearing.... Cornerstone is coming with a new tool which amazes the Big Boss there himself... :)

For the first time of his life he was silent.
You should know him to understand how special this is.

Also Cornerstone did miraculous things in the past.
Now they surprise their own people. I am quite sure that their new product can mean that big organizations can save at least (!) 30% of their costs of development in maintenance, integrating software, etc. I just heard it (not offical but this kind of news is very spectacular).

It means that we - COBOL programmers - can do much more new development.... and that is more fun.

It is still a secret in fact but I find it difficult not to talk about... so keep it a little bit silent, please!

Crox

we have used the intertec services. They helped with an IMS to DB2 and Natural to Cobol conversions. Their price schedule will save you a bunch. They have been in the conversion business since 1970. They actually created PRAD's for our ledger system that was created in 1981 with no naming standards.
