Hi friends
Is it possible to load HFA firmware in CP600&CP200 SIP desk phones
We have received CP Desk phones (SIP)
we want to change in to HFA ,can any one guide me.
Regards
Flash them with HFA firmware similar to if you were upgrading a SIP phone
You may have to use an early version of the HFA firmware - check the release notes.
As CP phones are only delivered with SIP firmware, there is now a tool in Assistant, IPSM, which will flash them for you. It's there from V8 R1, you have to enable it from Base Admin, Application Control. Make sure you are on the latest Assistant hotfix.
Dear sbcsu
i used to load the firmware through 3Cd FTP server, but for CP SIP desk phones i never done any thing so far .
thats why i need some guide lines to go for conversion.
I have some of the CP600 phones. We are upgrading to OSV in the near future, but I like to play with the shiny new toys, so I flashed them to HFA. If you have a DLS server, you can update the firmware there or with the phone's web interface. They will barely work on my V5 4000. You can make and receive calls, and that's about it. I ended up flashing them back to SIP so I can at least have "some" functionality.
So, sort of a hijack here. Hey Moriendi, does V8 have a built in DLS type application there?? We are supposed to be going from v7 to v8 sometime this year I believe.
It's not a DLS replacement and you can't use both because the phones need the Assistant IP address in the DLS field for IPSM to work. All IPSM does is flash the phones between SIP and HFA. If you want to manage profiles and templates, you'll still need the DLS.
