Is it possible to make conversation recording on new digital telephones DT4222 using new optional unit DBY 420 01/1?

DBY 420 01/1 is announced as extra bell & busy signal device. Conversation recording is not mentioned in Ericsson's Product Launch documents...

Maybe I can connect recording device to Headset connector, but Call Centre Agents normally use Headsets during conversation....and I need conversation recording in the Call Centre....

Any information is welcome

Digital Extension Taps on the MDF
to Racal Wordnet recorder series 8-128 recording channels for ELU-28 taps
or Racal mirra series 4-32 recording channels for ELU-28 taps

SYAR2003,
Thanks for advice, Racal is an excellent solution, but I cannot apply Racal.
Customer allready has some DBC213 and optional units and conversation recording allready made via ANALOG ports to recording device.
Customer is very satisfied with this solution and just wants to add few more agents.
Now Ericsson has stopped selling DBC213 and sells only new 4222,4223 series. I have some new telephones, but I still do not have a new optional unit to try this out.....

If anyone has a document describing new optional unit, I would appreciate it.

By the way, does anyone have a new optional unit???

The option unit DBY 420 01 for 22x series .
Does not specify tape out put on pin 1+6
as the one for the 20x/21x series does .

However this is from the dialog 4000 lauch document:

A sound output, e.g. for a PC soundboard connection and an interface for a CT (Computer Telephony) application (e.g. the OWS/Operator Work Station) will be available in a later version of the option unit. At present the existing CT adapter can be used for OWS together with all Dialog 4000 Digital telephones.

So mounting a ct-adaper on the dbc 222 gives
a tape output at pin 1+6 in the RJ connector marked pbx.

And the statement says that a later option unit(w/tape) is to be availible (but not when) .
Possible with a name like dby 420 02 .
I'm not sure.

The cd adapter also has tape in the RJ named phone

The connector is a six pole RJ12 connector marked PHONE which is located in the rear of the unit.

PIN NR. PIN DISPOSITION
1 Tape recorder
2 Busy Signal/ Extra bell -
3 Line
4 Line
5 Busy Signal/ Extra bell +
6 Tape recorder

The tape recorder and door indicator pins signals are being transferred from the telephone instrument to the exchange interface and are only active if the respective telephone instrument supports the facility.

The bold marked statement tells me that the ct-adapter
only transmit the pins from the phone and through it .

So E/// say use a ct adapter on a 4000 phone to get tape
and the ct adapter transmits the tape output from the phone .
This tells me that the 4000 series have tape output
as default in the instrument without using an option unit.
And that statement bout the ct-adapter and new option unit is just for connection/cabling purposes.

So i think you should test it out with a split
from the line input of the phone .
pin 3+4 line/pbx in , pin 1+6 tape out.

Post back the results

OK SYAR

I really appreciate your efforts.
Pins 1&6 are good idea to try, but when you take a look at telephone, there are only pins 2,3,4&5 on RJ11 line connector.
I will check 2&5.....

Thanks
