I am using Access 2010. I have a tab control with four pages (forms): Add, Edit, Reports and Tables. When I add new records with the Add form or view/change records with the Edit form, the buttons grow darker around their edges, the text in both the labels and text boxes grows darker and the text boxes (that were labels: see below) blink/flicker.

I found the flicker fixing code on the Allen Browne web site ( and used it. It did change the unassociated labels to text boxes, but it did not fix the flickering or growing darker problem.

I can make the buttons normal by moving the cursor over them, but they will grow darker once I begin to add or view records.

Moving the cursor over the text boxes and/or labels has not effect. They stay darker.

When I leave a page with the darker controls and then revisit it, the controls are normal color. But once I start to add/view records, they again start to go darker.

There are no option group controls being used.

Thoughts/suggestions/solution?

Thanks in advance.
