With MS CRM 2011, is there a way to control the values of a drop down value based on the current dropdown value?
For instance we would like to control the order of statuses for a support case. First status would be "Reported." From reported the status could be changed to "In Progress." From "In Progress" the status could change to "Waiting for Customer" or "Waiting for Fix" or "Researching" or "Closed." All three of the previous statuses could go back to "In Progress" but not "Reported." From "In Progress" you could go to "Closed" but not back to "In Progress."
So if a case is in an "In Progress" status, the user would only be able to see "Waiting for Customer" or "Waiting for Fix" or "Researching" or "Closed" but could not see "Reported."
Hope that made sense. I'm very new to CRM. What are the possible ways I have to go about this?
Thank you,
Pat B
