I want to be able to show new records about half way or some useful percentage of the way down a full subform, retaining a view of the last few records. But if you add records behind the form using VB and requery the subform then go to the new record using bookmarks (or go to the last record), the new record appears at the top of the subform, necessitating a scroll up to see previous records.

What you could do is have your subform as normal, but below that on your main form have a mockup of the sub form, made out of unbound controls, with a save button.
Users could then view up and down the subform as you wish and enter new records onto the mockup and have them appended with the save button.
