Hello forum members,
I've created a GIF animation and imported it into a flashmx2004 movie as a movie clip.

When I initially created the animation using a third party animation software, I set the animation properties to "play 1 time". After importing it into the flash movie, the animation loops, although the flash movie itself does not loop, as I intended.

Can anyone give me a hint on stopping my imported animation at the end of the flash movie? The .stop() action script has no effect on the GIF animation.

Thank you,

I don't know how you did that, but Flash imports GIF animation as a series of bitmaps - at least my Flash 8 does.

=> This is FlashMX2004, and I've never used a prior version. However, MX2004 did import the gif animation as both a series of bitmaps and the actual single-file animated gif. I ended up just using the bitmap images to create a frame-by-frame animation. This gave the desired results, but, obviously took a bit longer than if I could have found a way within Flash to keep the single-file animation from looping. Thanks for the response.
