How does an IBM server react to a planned power outage. For instance, we shut the server down (shutdown -h now), then cut power to the room for testing (fire suppression, etc.), then return power to the room. During this, we never physically unplug the servers.

Does the server starting booting?
If so, how do we control this?

Thanks...

Normally , when powering down, and bring the current back up , you will end up in your bootmenu ( for P5 it will be ASMI) after doing some initial checks of the service processor. The server will not boot unless you tell it to power on.
That's the case anyway with P630 and P520
