I have a Western Digital WD300 that stpped cold. it has thousands of MP3s on it and I ordered another one and attempted top change the board on it. It is a slightly different model and while the motor does run now it apparently has some differences. With the old card the drive motor dosent even run at all when u start the computer up. I am certain the problem is on the board but I cannot find anyone that has the exact drive I have available for purchase as the suffix number is slightly different. western Digital is of NO help as they say they will only replace the whole drive but will not sell only the boards for the drive that I have. I dont have a schematic to the board either. Does anyone have any ideas?
I am an electronic technician so if I had the shematic I feel I might at least have a chance of identifying the bad component
