I have been asked to produce a product that adds a button to the print preview screen of MS Access. When the user clicks the button the VB6 application will respond by collecting a snapshot of the print preview screen and transferring a bunch of data from one database to another. In the interest of maintaining separation from the background DB, I'd like to handle the button adding, etc. from the VB6 application. Is it possible to do that from outside Access?

I would appreciate any advice or references to explore.

Thanks,

I believe it is. Often, if it is possible in MS Access, then you can do the same externally by using the MS Access object library (add a reference to it in your VB app.).
Plenty of examples here in this forum, and forum222 on how to use it.
However, Access does need to be already installed on the system runnung your application.

You can also check out buying the MS Office Developers kit.
