Good morning.

I have a four disks ssa array connected to a ssa contraller, but I have another ssa controller that I want to connect to make the array, controller redundant.

I have one volume group created in that array with very LVs.

I know how to connect the controller 2 fisically with the disks and with controller 1, but I'm not sure if the data will be lost. Does any one hae a procedure for this kind of installation of new controllers without affecting the VG?

Thanks,
Hugo Novo

I wouldn't do it concurrently, but it's easy enough to do. varyoff the vg, do your cabling, cfgmgr, then run use the diag tool's ssa section to verify your connection paths. vary the vg back on and have a beer.
