Guys,

I need to edit a text box (on a form) which is linked to a tables field. But when i add a control source it comes up uneditable. Can i do this it this way or is there some other way i have to go about having a form which allows the user to append to a record. Cheers

Is your form based on a query or a table. If it is based on a query, have you tried opening the query and editing it directly? I ask, because it seems that you may not have an updateable record source.

hey..i haven't tried that, purely because i wanted it as user friendly as possibly, ie eliminating any entry into a datasheet or anything. It doesn't appear that the record source is updateable. Quite frustrating because it seems like a logical thing someone would want to do but not happening for me. Is there any way i can make it updateable, or some macro i can run which will update it etc. Cheers

How are ya eavan . . .

To tell if the [blue]recordsource[/blue] of a form is editable or not, have a look at the [blue]AddNew[/blue]
AddNewEnabled.BMP
navigation button. If it has that disabled look
AddNewDisabled.BMP
the recordset is uneditable!

In parallel with [blue]Remou[/blue], to correct this you'll need to modify your [blue]RecordSource[/blue] to something editable . . .
