Good Afternoon,
Is it possible to route outbound email through specific mail server based on the sender’s domain name?
For example, email from JohnD@Alpha.com to Internet will be routed through MailServer.Alpha.com; email sends by JohnD@Beta.com to Internet will be routed through MailServer.Beta.com?
I try to add entries on file /etc/mail/mailertable. However, it seems like the routing control is based on recipient’s domain.
Sendmail version: 8.12.10

Thanks in advance,
Warren

This looks like a client issue to me. R both domains hosted by the same sendmail box or are there two mail servers here ?
I host five different mail domains on a single server and have a setup just like you described. JohnD@tld1.com and JaneD@tld2.com send mail out through the same mail server but the client setup is what makes the distinction about what domain the mail came from.

Hello,

Thanks for your information. I just off a meeting with our Exchange guro. They will add extra account on Outlook agent to accomindate this issue. It is under testing at this moment. It seems like is a workaround/solution.

Thanks
