The President of our company does not us computers but has an email address that is configured to deliver to his admin asst in Exchange Server 2000. However, she would like to be able to control the "From" portion of both new emails, email replies and forwards in her Outlook 2000 application. Currently, she has two profiles and must close Outlook and open the profile containing only the Pres' account if she wants to send anything that looks as though it came from him.

Is there not a way to prompt her in her own profile for which address she would like to be the sending one?

Thanks for any and all help.

I'm using OL2002(XP) but I think this works the same in OL2000. You may have to do some stuff w/ Excahnge to get the boss's mail delivered to the admin's folders, I'm not an Exchange guy but others at the Exchange 5.5 forum can help you I'm sure. And correct any errors/mistakes I may tell you here! :)

That said,

Instead of two profiles just set up two email accounts under the admin's profile one for her mail and one for the boss.

Be sure to properly setup the "Reply E-mail" on the More Setting page of account setup.

Then when the admin responds for the boss she can pick which account to use or "send from" using the Accounts button next to Send.

Hope this helps.
The two rules for success are:
1. Never tell them everything you know.

There a number of steps to achieve this. The first is that the admin asst should log on as the President. Then she should set up his account using the delegate mail functions to permit her account to read, modify, delete, reply to and do anything else you can think of to his mail.
Then the admin asst should log on to her account. She should make a change to her profile so that when she logs on it opens the president's mailbox also, so she can choose which one she want to read it be selecting accordingly.
Then she should enable the display of the "From" window when she is creating a mail item or replying or forwarding. This last one is done from the "View" menu pick while creating a mail item.
When she wants to send a mail from herself, she will leave the "From" field blank. When she wants to send on behalf of the President, she will enter his username in the from field.
