Hi All

*Sometimes* when I am using bash and go to the end of a long line and wish to go back to beginning of line with "control a" my SSH session hangs. Has anyone experienced this?

I use putty on Windows XP connecting to a Linux Ubuntu server
w/OpenSSH_4.7p1 w/bash 3.1.17(but this has plagued my for some time before as well)

Thanks

Are you sure you're not hitting Ctrl-S by accident? Try hitting Ctrl-Q to resume it... Ctrl-S and Ctrl-Q are stop/start flow control characters, useful in the days when terminals ran at 1200 bps for example, because you could pause screen output and then resume it again (who needs more!). :)

I think you nailed it!! That resolved the issue.
Wow - would never have thought of that!

Thank you very much !!
