Contivity VPN over Direcway satellite Broadband

I have Direcway satellite Broadband ISP with Nortel Contivity Client VPN. Has been working OK, but suddenly, while using the service, it disconnected and is now giving the message "Checking for banner text from (IP Address), then a 15 second delay and I get the message "The secure Contivity connection has been lost. Click Connect to re-establish the connection." But this does not re-establish the connection. I checked with the hospital and they say I am connecting and that the problem is on my end of the connection. I am able to ping their site. I have disabled the firewalls and I am connected to the internet. I understand that the Direcway modum also serves as a router.
I'm New to this and would appreciate any help.
Jim

Ask your isp(Directway) what changed? The problem you mentioned usually shows up on a wired connection.
Did you make any changes ? Did the hospital make any changes?

There were no changes that we know of, except when I checked system restore, there had been some sort of auto update about that time. My wife was actually using the VPN when she was disconnected.
Thanks for you help

Sounds like you have XP. If SP2 is installed, check that the firewall is not activated.
