Hello all,

I have a contivity 1500 that I would like use MS Active Directory authentication via an LDAP lookup. The documentation that I found on nortels site is a little old and from an older version of the OS.

The server that I'm doing the LDAP lookup against is a W2K advanced server with SP2. Additionally it is the "primary" domain controller.

Has anyone successfully completed this? If so would you please impart some wisdom?

Many thanks,
eric

You will need to update the Contivity to the latest code it can get to (depends on amount of RAM).
Leave the contivity working with the internal LDAP and configure the LDAP Proxy. Create a group and configure it with a group ID and password. Make sure that under services/IPsec, on the authentication method you have LDAP server there on one of the three choices.
Configure the client to use the group ID and password of the group you created.

does that mean that the users will use the same GroupID and password for logging on ?
How do I know which user is logged on ?

Do I need to set up Windows 2000 IAS as ldap proxy ? Or will authentication work against the Windows 2000 DC out-of-the box ?

thanks
