Contivity client disconnects, must reboot to Reconnect

User gets disconnected while using the Contivity client and has to reboot the computer in order to get connected again. Any thoughts?

Here is what the system has.
Windows 2000, service pack 4
Internet Explorer Version 6.0.2800.1106, sp1
Charter's cable modem service
Contivity VPN Client V04_65.26
