Can you join 2 Nortel Contivity 221 as the endpoints for a VPN or does the Contivity 221 need to face a Contivity 10XX VPN endpoint. Thanls

Contivity 221 units can VPN to each other. I have done this myself. In fact any Nortel VPN-capable router can form a tunnel with another Nortel VPN-capable router.

The problems happen when:

- You try to mix Nortel and non-Nortel equipment (not saying it won't work, just may not be as straightforward)

- You have two Nortel boxes with a static IP on one side and a dynamic IP on the other. From what I was told by a Nortel tech, and from what I have seen, the Contivity units always need a static IP to do VPN connections.
