I am setting up a VPN connection based on the equipments we have recently. However, it drives me crazy. Our network is pretty simple. Cable Modem - Nortel Contivity 100 - LAN - VPN server (windows xp).
My VPN server is Windows XP. The port 1723 for PPTP in Nortel is already forwarded to VPN server. I can setup a VPN connection to that VPN server successfully in local PC. However, when I try it from outside internet, I can only see that 'Verifying Username and Password', then error 721 comes out.
I am wondering should I need to open other ports in this Nortel Contivity 100 for VPN tunnel? The port forwarding command I used is 'nat add xx.xx.xx.xx:1723 192.168.1.11:1723 tcp'. Coz I am really green in this field. Do anyone have that experience to share with. Any good idea are most apprciated. Good day!
