Continuous subforms and combo boxes

How do you make combo boxes in a continuous form operate independently for each record in a subform?

I have a combo box that is populated using a query. When I pick a value from the list, EVERY combo box for each record changes simultaneously rather than being able to select a different value for each record in the continuous form.

I have tried making the subform unbound, but am not sure if that will solve my problem.

With the subform bound, the combo box must also be bound
