Continuous Form - Detail Does Not Show in Form or Layout View?

Details:
[ol][li]Access 2007[/li]
[li]New Form Design[/li]
[li]Windows 7 Pro OS[/li]
[li]Built Continuous form by selecting table, and selecting "Multiple Items" from the Forms section of the Create tab on the ribbon.[/li]
[li]Checking properties... Detail section, Visible = Yes[/li]
[li]Height = 0.3333"[/li]
[li]Auto Height, Can Grow, and Can Shrink all set to No (I tried changing Auto Height and Can Grow, but made no difference.[/li]
[li]Tried compact and repair - although this is a new database.[/li]
[li]Seemed fine until I went away for a couple hours and came back to it. I may have changed something and forgotten, but I don't recall [/li]
[li]My next step without any good ideas here will be to just recreate the form - thankfully it's not that in depth, yet.[/li][/ol]

Thanks for any information, references, etc.

Alright, here's a clue...

I built a second form the same way, sort of... just a little sloppier and quicker to see if I could narrow down the cause and therefore more likely find a solution.

This time, I noticed that the detail got smushed/hidden after I re-added the fields to the Footer of the form. My thought is to use a continuous form where a few of the fields will show for a given range of the data at any given time, and then below, the selected record's detail will show, and the associated actions can take place right there. I thought of using a subform, but then I thought this would make it simpler.

When I added the first field to the footer, it did not affect anything. But when I added ALL of the fields, it smushed the header.

Any ideas on what would have caused this? Now I see that even after deleting everything form the footer, the detail still remains squushed.

Thanks.

Alright, I built another form...even sloppier and faster and this is what I found out...

(not sure the specific spot, b/c didn't take the time to find the exact spot), but apparently once you make the footer too big, it'll automatically squish the detail area. Frnakly, I'm shocked that you can't just have a scroll bar automatically for the footer that shows when there's too much to appear on the screen.. Anyway, glad I found the solution after all.

For clarification - the solution is to not make the footer too big - in other words, just have to srhink it down enough to where the detail begins showing again.
